Prefuse 73

Incoming

	We can reveal that Prefuse 73 is back with a new album set to drop late October. Preparations will give fans a subtle taste of every Prefuse record that has come before, whilst still exploring and pushing these trademark sounds further for 2007. 2002's One Word Extinguisher and Extinguished Outtakes were landmarks, rippling with production that's since been infinitely copied. 2005's Surrounded By Silence was a collaborative milestone teaming Prefuse with Ghostface, GZA, Battles' Tyondai Braxton and The Books, a lofty, exciting musical foray. Now here's another Prefuse 73 speciality, the sure shot. The first single from Preparations features a collaboration with New York wall-of-psych band School Of Seven Bells and Battles drummer John Stanier. Class of 73 Bells swirls with undeniable pop melodies grounded by Prefuse's stereo-rattling low-end while Smoking Red takes Stanier's punishing drums and uses them to carve out a fierce hip-hop banger. 	Flying Lotus
	We are proud to exclusively reveal the tracklisting and release date for LA based producer Flying Lotus' debut EP on Warp Records. Reset will be released as a 12inch, CD and Digital Download on October 1st 2007 featuring the following tracklisting: Tea Leaf Dancers Vegas Collie Massage Situation Spicy Sammich Bonus Beat Dance Floor Stalker Preorder Reset at Warpmart With a style of production and songwriting which oozes freshness these 6 tracks have been causing a flurry of excitement ever since they touched down within the confines of the Warp office. 	Gravenhurst's 4th Album for Warp The Western Lands will be released on 10th September. 	Music Video Directors Wanted
	Warp Films is currently accepting music video director submissions. Following a hugely successful run of cinematic videos from top directorial talent, Warp Films has decided to launch a music promo arm. Richard Ayoade's video for "Flourescent Adolescent" by the Arctic Monkeys is a brutal clown gang versus robber posse bust-up in an East End wasteland. Expect double trouble from Shane Meadows as two Warp Films videos for Richard Hawley are released later this year. 	Warp Films and Warp X
	Warp Films has started production with Mangello Tipperary on the visionary short film, Mountain Yoga. The fable of Mountain Yoga involves a young hillbilly who struggles between spiritual practice and raw survival. His ability to levitate and explore the most advanced forms of yoga is complicated by his fox companion's edible nature. Mangello Tipperary is the result of the team behind Encyclopedia Pictura (currently directing Bjork's new video for Wanderlust) joining forces with Daren Rabinovitch. Over at Warp X submissions have now closed for the 25 Words or Less scheme, which elicited a great response of over 200 entries. Working alongside the UK Film Council, Warp X chose the 'Lo-Fi Sci-Fi' genre, aiming to play with the concept that the most disturbing science-fiction often presents us with alternative realities that are uncomfortably close to our own. 	Battles
	After destroying an overcrowed 10,000 capacity arena at this years Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, Battles will shortly be touching down in Europe for a series of festivals and shows. Radar Festival

We have teamed up with The Radar Festival for another music video competition, this year we have put forward tracks from Flying Lotus and Maximo Park.

The Festival gives young promising directors a stepping stone into the industry by pulling support from record labels and music video companies. Each record label puts forward tracks which can be used to create video entries for the competition... check this years list and get more info on the Radar Festival Website

In addition to the All Tomorrow's Parties date which we mentioned last mailout, Aphex Twin has confirmed another DJ date in December at Manchester's Warehouse Sessions on the 7th.

BBC New Music Shorts 2007

Five spanking new filmmakers have been selected as the winners of this year's BBC New Music Shorts programme.

Tracks from leading independent record labels were used to inspire submissions. The films will feature music from Gravenhurst, King Creosote, Wiley, The Earlies and Lightspeed Champion.
