Jackson and his Computer Band - Smash Out Now

Incoming

The debut album from Jackson and his Computer Band is out now. We've been bigging this up for quite a while, and now it's released you have a chance to decide for yourselves. You can listen to a few full tracks here

"Jackson Fourgeaud has swiftly become the great hope of dance music." The Wire, October 2005

"Squarepusher fans take note, there's a new kid on the block." Barcode Magazine

You can buy Smash on CD and a rather beautiful foldout gatefold double 12” from Warpmart. The first 500 orders come bundled with a special free Smash Up Megamix 1.0 CD - a re-edit of some tracks from Smash and Jackson's remixes which makes a great accompaniment to the album. You can also download from Bleep of course.

The album launch party in London on 22nd September has been moved to The Parlour @ Sketch / on Conduit street, chosen especially for its state of the art sound system. Luke Vibert, A.M.J.A.D. & DJ Disco provide support. All tickets are now SOLD OUT for this event, but if you missed out, Jackson is on tour later in the year. See the Warp Live section below for details
Look out for Jackson's brand new website which will be launched very soon.  Designed by T-Rick and Jackson himself, it will be live on www.jacksonandhiscomputerband.com.

Broadcast - Tender Buttons Out Now

In a big week for Warp albums, the wonderful new long-player from Broadcast is also out now. We think it is their best to date, and many people agree…

Broadcast are on tour extensively later this year, and the whirling synths and sparse metronomic beats that underpin the new material should really take on new life in the live arena, especially when paired with Trish's stunning vocals. If you live near London, the plush surroundings of Koko should top this off perfectly.

Gravenhurst - New Single The Velvet Cell

Gravenhurst release a new single The Velvet Cell, on 26th September on 7” and download. From folk murder ballads, through foreboding electronics and now a more aggressive, Slint-inspired psych-rock, Nick Talbot and his band have progressed impressively since their debut albums on Silent Age Records and Warp. The forthcoming LP Fires In Distant Buildings is out on 24th October.

Warp Films - Shane Meadows This Is England

Shane Meadows, acclaimed director of Dead Man's Shoes and A Room for Romeo Brass started shooting his fifth feature this week, tentatively titled This Is England.

The dark comedy is a coming-of-age story set in northern England during summer 1983, when an 11-year-old boy, Shaun, mourns the loss of his father and falls in with a group of skinheads. We'll keep you updated as the filming process continues.

AFX - Hangable Auto Bulb

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of their original release, Warp will reissue the legendary Hangable Auto Bulb EPs on CD on 31st October. As vital a historic document as there is in electronic music, they were the very first to introduce the complex, cut-up breaks that have since become synonymous with Aphex Twin's work, from Richard D. James and I Care Because You Do, right through to Drukqs and the Analord series. They have of course also inspired countless other producers in the intervening years.

Originally limited to only a few thousand copies each, the two HAB volumes have become extremely rare collectors’ items, and are arguably the most valuable and sought-after of the entire Warp catalogue. Now they are brought together on a single CD, beautifully packaged by The Designers Republic.

If you preorder at Warpmart, you can get HAB for the very reasonable price of £7.99. On release date it will revert to its £10.99 RRP.
